FAOC was founded in 2003 with the official merger of the practices of Dr Derrick Lousaing FRCS Ed., and Dr Godfrey Araujo FRCES Ed, Glasg. These 2 co-operating orthopaedic surgeons had previously shared offices on Pembroke Street for about 7 years managing their patients before they formalized the partnership to create a modern, efficient group practice.
They proceeded to construct a purpose-built office complex at their present location, 29A St. Clair Avenue, commencing occupancy in December 2004 with the simultaneous recruitment of Dr Ahmad H. Rahman MBBS who continues to manage the General Practice arm of FAOC.
FAOC has initiated a number of firsts for group practices in Trinidad & Tobago in the running of this company. FAOC is fully computerized with an electronic medical record, and a centralized accounting service. There is a large, efficient front and back office staff in addition to 2 practice nurses, for the smooth running of the administrative and treatment arm of this busy group practice. Using cutting edge technology, FAOC utilizes a digital X-ray facility, which is server based and transmitted directly to the doctors' desktop computers and projected onto large screens for instructing during consultations with the patients.
